We are currently seeking to appoint two new Trustees

New Trustee at Aylsham and District Care Trust (ACT), Helen Bailey, brings significant leadership skills to help steer the charity into the future and now the charity is seeking to appoint two further Trustees.

Aylsham and District Care Trust is pleased to announce that Helen Bailey, who until recently was General Manager of the Blickling Estate, has become a Trustee and will be helping the charity to further develop volunteering roles and introduce additional training and development opportunities

Before retiring in 2019, Helen worked for 10 years for the National Trust, ensuring the sustainability of the estate, developing community relationships and the volunteering programme.  Prior to that, she had a career in publishing, finishing as vice president and global director of content management for Wiley.

This is a crucial time for ACT as, like many other small charities, the services need to be adapted to meet the needs of the community because of the Coronavirus pandemic. It is also a potentially positive time, as many people have expressed an interest to volunteer for ACT and Helen’s experience will be vital.

Helen brings important skills to add to those of existing Trustees, Jenny Manser, Edward Hare, Helen Saunders, Ray Horne and Vanessa Scargill. To further develop the leadership capacity of the charity ACT are looking for two further trustees to join our Board from October 2020. Trustees are our most senior leaders. They set our strategic direction, make sure we are using our resources effectively and ensuring the best possible impact on the communities we work with.

We would welcome applications from people with lived experience of caring for others, isolation, mental health problems, from all ethnic, socio-economic, religious, professional, and personal backgrounds. Whether you are an experienced trustee or taking your first steps into governance, if you have the commitment, values, and skills, we want to hear from you.

Volunteering

 

We have over 120 volunteers who help us to run our services and we would love to hear from you if you can help. Just a couple of hours a week could make big difference and help us to continue to support as many people as we can in our community.

We are currently seeking some additional drivers for our mini buses.This could be for just a few hours once a month. The transport we provide brings people to our lunch clubs or enables them to do their weekly shopping in Aylsham. The friendly and supportive team at ACT will provide you with all the training you need. It’s a rewarding experience and a great way to meet new friends knowing that you have made a difference to the lives of people in need of a little help. Whether you are able to help once a week or just occasionally, we would be grateful for you support.

The work of ACT is totally dependent on our volunteers.  Could you spare some of your time?
