Medical car service

We have a number of volunteers who are happy to collect people from their home and take them to a medical, dental or hospital appointment. There is a small charge which is based on the number of miles travelled. Please call Alison on 01263 733385 if you would like to book this service.

As part of our social distancing plan linked to the Coronavirus outbreak, you will be asked to sit in the rear passenger seat and wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, please ask Alison and we will be able to provide one for you.

Rural Transport. (our normal service):

As with most rural communities, being isolated and not having access to transport is a key issue in the area. Our charity has two minibuses available to transport people to and from the ADCT Centre, lunch clubs, into town to be able to do their shopping or go to the coffee morning in the Town Hall. These trips help to reduce the likelihood of loneliness and social isolation. This can be  particularly important for individuals who have mobility or other health problems which means getting around can be very difficult.

Mini bus transport

Our mini bus drivers, supported by passenger assistants collect people from their home and take them home afterwards to enjoy:

  • lunch clubs
  • shopping trips
  • social outings

Volunteer car drivers collect people from their home and return them afterwards to attend:

  • GP appointments
  • hospital appointments
  • dentist appointments

Please call Alison on 01263 733385 and she will organise one of our dedicated drivers to use their car to  collect you from your house and bring you home again.

There is a small cost for this service to cover mileage.
