From humble origins some 40 years when founder Rees Coughlan had the vision to see ever increasing care needs in Aylsham and surrounding areas, Aylsham and District Care Trust (ACT) has grown to provide care for between 2500 and 3000 people a year.
Operating from its hub in St Michaels Avenue, ACT provides a wealth of services to those who are socially isolated and lonely and to assist people to live independently and well for as long as possible.
The ACT Centre is home to this registered charity dedicated to caring for the for the elderly and those with a disability who can no longer wholly look after themselves. ACT has a dedicated team of volunteers and staff whose desire is to see people thrive and who embody the organisational values of caring, of connecting people with others and of creating a sense of belonging.
The ACT café is a care hub in itself. Open to all, the café is a place of welcome, security and warmth, a place where you can enjoy a coffee or a meal often in the company of others.
Our day centre offers a more formal day care service with a range of activities and is staff by trained care workers. It is an opportunity for friendship and fun for our members and a time of respite for family members.
